Covering most of Morocco, CID’s team embarked on a 3-month assignment in the North African country, mapping early grade reading in Arabic. CID’s dedicated team will handle the mapping process throughout its all four phases. It will highlight successful models of teaching and learning Arabic in the early grades, as well as identify organizations that are contributing to improving reading skills of Moroccan children and youth (grade 6 level or youth up to 25 years old), and determine the success and scalability of their efforts.
Evidence of success will be analyzed and provided according to literacy indicators. The team is surveying 64 of both formal primary schools and non-governmental organizations in the non formal sector as a sample representation.
