As part of UNICEF’s Child Protection Mechanism project, CID Consulting has developed an advocacy strategy to create a children’s rights-friendly culture and raise awareness about the amended child law. Between May and December 2009, CID conducted a qualitative research study to assess the level of awareness of the different stakeholders involved in child protection.
Based on the output of the research, CID developed an advocacy strategy that aims to raise the level of awareness among policy-makers and stakeholders about UNICEF’s child protection mechanism, the new child law and child protection committees. The project stresses the need to ensure that both children and adults are aware of the rights of children and work together to protect them.
CID will support UNICEF in implementing a number of communication activities proposed in the strategy in the up-coming months.
