Women Empowerment and Gender Consulting in Egypt

The women economic empowerment portfolio has been a cross-cutting focus for CID across a multitude of projects. CID has strategically addressed gender sensitive issues, working on increasing women’s economic empowerment and social inclusion, as well as enhancing digital and financial literacy of women leading to enhanced livelihoods for themselves and their homes, thus integrating the gender equality component into tailored solutions. CID employs a gender-sensitive approach and its expertise in gender includes technical assistance and capacity building to women entrepreneurs, gender sensitive value chain analysis, mainstreaming gender considerations in policy planning, gender-based violence and gender awareness initiatives amongst others.

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs to Digitize Ventures

Raseedy, a rapidly growing local fintech establishment, is a mobile wallet application that aims to facilitate tech-enabled financial inclusion across Egypt. Driven by a commitment to financial inclusion, Raseedy approached CID Consulting with an interest in designing a Women Empowerment Program, with the intent of training a cohort of high-potential women entrepreneurs to enhance their enterprises.

Improving learning outcomes for girls

USAID had a bold ambition to increase girls’ access to primary and preparatory education, and improve literacy and learning rates in Egyptian public schools. In order to do so, CID Consulting worked as part of a consortium led by RTI to implement the Girls Improved Learning Outcomes (GILO) project.
